I did it! I learned how to use this strange box. I’ve watched the humans use it in their cabins. I found this laying around, thrown away, like many of the things humans bring to the forest. I try to reuse as many things as possible. In the winter, I can stay warm in their cabins. I use their discarded items like books and other stuff. An old trapper taught me to read and write with the books I find.
Then one day, I found this box lying on a trail. My friend the trapper told me what his box does and showed me how to use it. He said I can talk to humans this way. Trying to type with my big fingers is hard, but if I use one finger at a time, I can type out my message.
Most of the time, I hide when I see humans. But when the humans are away, I sneak in a cabin to use this box. I get so upset when people leave trash in the forest. And every year, the forest seems to get smaller as the humans cut down more and more trees. Now I can talk to humans about the forest and trees and how we need to keep them safe.
